AI Course Studio helps you go from an idea — or an existing document — to a published course in minutes. Instead of building every chapter manually, you describe what you need, review a suggested outline, and let Skillhabit generate structured learning content for you.
The workflow is designed for speed and control: you stay in the driver's seat at every step.
What is AI Course Studio?
AI Course Studio is Skillhabit's guided course-generation workflow. It can:
- Analyse a text prompt or uploaded file (such as a PDF)
- Suggest a target audience and learning objectives
- Generate a course outline with chapters and learning elements
- Build the full course with varied content blocks
- Create contextual images aligned with your topic
Generated courses can include:
- Text and media blocks
- Multiple-choice questions
- Reflection blocks
- Survey blocks
Once generated, the course opens in the built-in authoring tool where you can edit, reorder, preview, and publish as usual.
Create a Course with AI Course Studio
Step 1 — Start a new AI course
- Go to Create
- Select New course
- Choose AI Course Studio (or Generate with AI)
Step 2 — Provide your source material
You can start in one of two ways:
Option A: Text prompt
- Enter a topic or paste source text
- Describe what the course should cover
Option B: Upload a file
- Upload a PDF or document from your device
- Skillhabit uses the file as the basis for course context
Step 3 — Review context and objectives
After analysing your input, Skillhabit suggests:
- Target audience — who the course is for
- Learning objectives — what learners should be able to do after completing it
Review these suggestions and adjust them before continuing. This helps the AI generate more relevant content.
Step 4 — Configure tone and language
Before generating the outline, choose:
- Tone of voice — e.g. playful, neutral, or professional
- Course language — the language the generated content should be written in
Step 5 — Review and approve the outline
Skillhabit generates a structured outline including:
- Course title and description
- Chapter names (and optional descriptions)
- Planned learning elements per chapter
Review the outline. You can adjust it before the full course is built.
Step 6 — Generate the course
When you confirm, Skillhabit builds the course chapter by chapter. The result is a draft course you can open in the Workspace.
Refine Your AI-Generated Course
After generation, treat the course like any other draft:
Edit content
- Open any chapter and edit text, questions, or media
- Replace AI-generated images with your own uploads
- Add elements from the right-hand panel (video, quiz, reflection, etc.)
Reorder chapters
- Drag and drop chapters in the left-hand chapter list
Preview
- Use Preview to see the learner experience before publishing
Further AI assistance
- Use Generate with AI inside the Workspace to expand or refine individual sections
AI Processing and Data Handling
Course content is generated through OpenAI. Text and files submitted for generation may be processed by the AI provider according to their data retention policies.
We recommend reviewing all AI-generated content before publishing, especially for compliance, legal, or safety-critical training.
Permissions
AI Course Studio is available to users with access to the Create app, including:
- Workspace Administrators
- Editors and content creators with course-creation permissions
Best Practices
- Start with a clear brief — the more specific your prompt or document, the better the outline
- Review objectives before generating — small edits here save time later
- Always preview before publish — AI is fast, but you know your learners best
- Mix AI with human touch — use generated courses as a strong first draft, not the final word
- Choose the right tone — professional for compliance topics; neutral or playful for softer skills

AI Course Studio is available on workspaces with AI course generation enabled.
